Hair that has been colored usually includes a step that requires a developer.

The developer most often used is peroxide. Peroxide is a very harsh oxidizer that can cause the following adverse effects to the hair:

• Dryness
• Brittleness
• Color fading when exposed to other oxidizing elements (sun, air, & water)
